Mobile application · Anonymized example

A mobile app for crews who close jobs away from a desk.

Status updates were collected on paper and typed in later. The useful record was always a few hours behind the work. The engagement put the job, the status, and the notes on the phone the crew already carries.

Mobile application Operations Remote engagement

Situation

Dispatchers and crews did not share one picture of the day. Office staff re-keyed notes, and mistakes showed up after the crew had left the site.

Approach

I designed the flow for a short session in one hand: see the job, update the status, add a note, move on. Network gaps were treated as normal, not as an edge case.

What shipped

A mobile application for the field workflow, with a simple status model and a handover for the next release.

Outcome

Updates happen where the work happens. The office sees the same status the crew just set, without a second round of typing.
